Employment Opportunities

Interested in Teaching at HCA?

We are not actively hiring for a specific position at this time, but we are always happy to hear from wonderful art educators who may be a good fit for Harbor Creative Arts.

We are especially interested in connecting with teachers and teaching artists who have availability:

  • Weekday afternoons, particularly Tuesday–Thursday between approximately 3:00–6:00 PM

  • Saturdays, especially Saturday afternoons

  • For occasional workshops, school vacation programs, and summer opportunities

Most of our classes serve children approximately ages 4–10, with additional programs for toddlers, tweens, and middle school artists.

Who We’re Looking For…

HCA teachers are warm, reliable, creative, flexible, and genuinely enjoy working with children!

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have experience teaching or working with children

  • Love art, color, drawing, painting, collage, sculpture, and experimenting with materials

  • Can guide a project while still leaving plenty of room for individual ideas and creative problem-solving

  • Enjoy getting to know children and families

  • Are responsible and organized, but comfortable going with the flow when working with kids

  • Value kindness, confidence-building, creativity, and helping children grow as both artists and people

  • Are comfortable working collaboratively as part of a small, supportive studio team

Experience in art education, elementary education, early childhood education, illustration, design, or another creative field is especially welcome.

Pay

Pay is based on the position, education, teaching experience, and responsibilities, typically $17–$25/hour.
